Die PlayStation 5 und zahlreiches Zubehör wurden bereits seitens Sony angekündigt und mit Bildern und Trailern enthüllt. Nicht getraut hat Sony sich bislang Preise zu seinen Produkten zu nennen. Kontrahent Microsoft liegt mit der Xbox im Rücken und man möchte vermeiden, dass der Kontrahent seine Preisgestaltung deutlich unter der eigenen Konsole gestaltet.
Irgendwann wird jedoch jemand seine Preise nennen müssen und Sony probiert es nun auf Kluge Art und Weise. Schon länger gibt es einige Twitter Accounts (Insider) die immer wieder zeigen, dass sie „Sony nahestehen“. Darunter auch der Twitter Account Iron Man.
Der hat nun Details zum Launch und den Preisen in diversen Tweet genannt. So soll die PlayStation 5 am 20 November 2020 zum Preis von 499 Dollar oder 499 Euro oder 449 Pfund starten. Deutlich günstiger gibt es die Digital Edition. Die beginnt zum Preis von 399 Dollar, 399 Euro oder 349 Pfund und liegt damit im Preisniveau der PlayStation 4.

Auch das zahlreiche Zubehör hat bereits Preise erhalten. So soll der Dual Sense Controller 59,99 Euro kosten, die Dockingstation 29,99€, die HD Camera 59,99€, das 3D Wireless Audio Headset 179€, der Vertical Stand 19,99€ und die Media Remote 29,99€.

Da es sich nicht um einen offiziellen Sony Account handelt sind die Informationen natürlich mit nüchterner Skepsis zu betrachten. Allerdings wie gesagt – Iron Man ist als Twitter Account bekannt und hat in der Vergangenheit immer wieder Insider Informationen veröffentlicht, die richtig waren.
Man könnte das ganze möglicherweise auch als Versuch seitens Sony sehen, mal ein wenig Feedback auf die bisherige Preisgestaltugn zu bekommen. Es lässt dabei noch die Möglichkeit, die Preise auf Druck der Konkurrenz ein wenig anzupassen.
